Description

The estate includes over 200 hectars of forest, vineyards and olive fields. The Poggio Antico vineyards, at the average height of 450 meters above sea level, are the highest elevation in Montalcino. A constant breeze brushes away fog and morning/evening humidity, drying up quickly the grapes after the rain, avoiding moulds and mould treatments. This privileged location grants optimal conditions especially during the crucial ripening phase, when the grapes reach a perfect balance between sugars and acidity. The soil, chalcareous and rocky, grants perfect draining and is the best fit to produce great bodied wines such as Brunello di Montalcino. Elements such as altitude, location and soil features give Poggio Antico wines a special character and great elegance.

EXPERT TASTING NOTES
Intense and persistent nose, well defined through mineral and floral accents. Intense and well structured palate. Good mineral start. Well diffused and pleasantly rounded tannin. Intense and Long. Medium complexity but pleasant finish.
