Fèlsina, which straddles the confines of the Chianti Classico appellation, represents, from a geological viewpoint, a “frontier land,” also encompassing the heath clay of the Crete Senesi, not far off in the direction of Montalcino and the Maremma, down to the sea. The territory of Felsina also extends from Berardenga to the wide basin of Siena.
